A Polynesian dance community in the heart of London
CULTURE, CLASSES, COMMUNITY
We at London School of Hula and ‘Ori (LSHO) aim to bring to London and the UK an active and supportive ‘ohana (family), united by a love for authentic traditional and contemporary Polynesian dance and culture as well as a desire to share with and give back to our greater communities. With Classes, Workshops, Guest Teachers, and Performances focused on Hula ‘auana and 'Ori Tahiti, we are breaking down the idea of the fancy dress Dashboard Hula Doll and providing a more in-depth and all-encompassing understanding of Polynesian dance movements, as well as history and culture, in order to help mould highly impressive dancers and storytellers, as well as an engaged community.
We hold regular classes and workshops, present our own showcases, engage in many community and social events, and perform often throughout London and beyond.
You can also flex other creative muscles through song, costume creation, and event staging.
Men, women and everyone else are welcome to join the ‘ohana- no experience necessary.
****We offer discounted and low income rates. Please get in touch if you would like to learn to dance.****
